Update: Live transfer news

Tottenham could reportedly join Manchester United in the race to sign Malcom.

Bordeaux forward Malcom has attracted interest from Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho keen to bolster his attack.

Recent reports have suggested that the French outfit are demanding around £40million for his signature, and United have already began negotiations to strike a deal.

And now according to the Daily Mail, Spurs are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old’s situation.

The report suggests the north London outfit are yet to make a bid, but they could be persuaded if Bayern Munich launch a move themselves.

Van Dijk warning
Mark Lawrenson has warned Liverpool’s defenders will be wary of their own future with Virgil van Dijk coming to the club.

“When you sign a player like that you think ‘Yeah I’ve signed a really good player here’,” Lawrenson told Football Focus.

“You’re then looking for a reaction from whoever plays with him.

“Straight away they’re under pressure, as in ‘will it be me (who is ousted)?’

“It’s a good sale (by Southampton) but I do think he will turn out to be a good buy.”

Nicholas wants Zaha
Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas says he would love his former club to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Nicholas is a fan of the 25-year-old but says he must be less selfish in his play following his performance in the 3-2 loss to the Gunners on Thursday.

“He’s a superstar in skill, but he must be more aware of his team-mates,” the Scot said on Sky Sports.

“I’ve love Arsenal to buy him, but somebody needs to sort him out and say ‘you have to think of some other people sometimes’. But he’s entertaining.”

Sanchez playing for move - Nicholas
Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez only played well against Crystal Palace because he wants to leave the club in January, says former Gunners Charlie Nicholas.

He scored a crucial brace in the 3-2 win over Palace on Thursday which was timed perfectly for when the transfer window opens next week, says Nicholas.

“He just knows how to time it just perfectly doesn’t he,” he said on Sky Sports.

“All of a sudden he’ll turn up and put a shift in and get a man of the match award.

“Why are you not doing that more? You didn’t do it at Man City, you didn’t do it against Man United. Where have you been?”

Newcastle takeover latest
Amanda Staveley is willing to refund Mike Ashley’s January transfer spending at Newcastle as the businesswoman continues her takeover talks.

The two parties are said to be at an impasse over the valuation of Newcastle.

Ashley wants to sell for £300m but Staveley is only willing to spend £250m.

But the latter will supposedly cover any transfers made in January even if the takeover is not completed by then, the Sun claim.

Ronaldo to FIGHT for Man Utd move
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Real Madrid to get rid of his huge release clause in the hope of securing a move away from the Bernabeu.

His relationship with Florentino Perez has grown increasingly sour to the point where Ronaldo “doesn’t even want to talk to the president”.

That’s according to the Daily Record, who claim Ronaldo’s camp has contacted both PSG and United to alert them of his intentions to leave in the summer.

It is said that Ronaldo has demanded Real drop his release clause entirely to give clubs a chance of signing
